A Successful Weekend At The Race Track

From August 12th-15th, 2026, racing cars from around the world took over the rolling hills of the Monterey Peninsula. Racing fans that attended this year’s Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion, got to see it all. From the celebrated Japanese race cars, the Shelbys, the Cobras, the GT40s, the historic Indy Cars, the on-track Demos from Toyota and Czinger, to the special Championship-winning motorcycles, there was something for every generation.

This year, two members of the club raced in the Ken Miles Trophy class. Billy Johnson in the 1964 Shelby Cobra 289, and Bob Stockwell in the 1965 Ford GT350 Fastback. Both drivers came home to Southern California with “hardware.” Johnson won all four races he raced in. Johnson had great battles with the CEO of Ford, Jim Farley. Stockwell came home with the Henry Ford Trophy. This award is given to the driver who best exemplifies Henry Ford. This is presented and awarded by Ford and Ford’s CEO, Jim Farley. After receiving this award, Stockwell shared the following statement: “What a fantastic honor to receive this special award and have it presented to me by Jim Farley, The CEO of Ford Motor Company as well as a fellow racer.”

Along with the members in the Ken Miles Trophy class, club member Alan Davison raced a 1996 IROC Pontiac Firebird in the IROC Series, the spectators’ favorite! Well known racing names such as Zak Brown, Jimmie Johnson, Kurt Busch, Dario Franchitti, Danny Sullivan, Scott Pruett, and many other legendary drivers were also behind the wheels of these iconic race cars. A rare opportunity to share the field with these gentlemen.
